This week, we made the huge announcement that we are taking Puckett's to one of our all-time favorite cities, Chattanooga! You can check out the press release here on the Puckett's Chattanooga Facebook page. The feedback we've received has been astounding. Our family has a long history of enjoying everything that this Tennessee River City has to offer. Of course at the top of the list is visiting the Tennessee Aquarium as kids, and enjoying it just as much as adults (great activity for a very pregnant woman looking to escape the summer heat). My sister and I took our daughters for their first time with the grandparents this past summer. The new restaurant will be right on the Aquarium plaza.
Growing up, Chattanooga hosted state championship tournaments for several sports. Some of my best and favorite high school memories were made surrounding the soccer championship. Eating at Lupi's, sleepless nights with my teammates as we geared up for the big game with butterflies in our stomach, playing on the UTC Mocs soccer field in a real stadium, and in 2002 winning our school's very first State Soccer Championship. My father, Andy Marshall (owner of Puckett's, on the top left of this photo) was one of our coaches and I played with my younger sister Emily on this team. I still get a knot in my stomach thinking about this game!
Bet you can't find me!
In 2011, my very best friend had the most beautiful wedding at the Hunter Museum of American Art overlooking the Tennessee river. I didn't even know this gem existed before her wedding and it has hands down the most amazing view of the Scenic City, definitely worth a visit.
Over the past few years, I have loved watching Chattanooga develop as a city into something very cool with a unique Tennessee identity. My brother Cliff currently lives there right on the river, and my cousin Graci has just moved back to the city from Pennsylvania (welcome home!). It owns its industrial history and independent businesses and thinkers thrive here. The culinary - and brewery - scene is booming, and we've enjoyed exploring the likes of The Terminal, Urban Stack, and of course we can't leave without stopping by the Ice Cream Show. We couldn't be more excited to make new memories in this amazing town. Chattanooga, here we come!
