Roast with a Toast + Rescue Mission Dinner

Shew it's been a busy two weeks! I've been slacking off on the blog front, but I promise it's only because it's been so crazy. I think there has been an event almost every night. Today I want to share with you two of my favorite events from the past week.

Roast with a Toast

A couple of weeks ago, I shared with you that this month marks Puckett's in Franklin's 10th anniversary (read that post here). Last Thursday, we celebrated the past 10 amazing years by roasting my pa Andy Marshall. I swear it wasn't my idea! We did a throwback Dinner & Show menu of baby back ribs, chicken ambassador, and baked tilapia with a tomato pecan sauce with cinnamon roll bread pudding for dessert (my favorite, eek!!). Some of our favorite songwriters that have walked most of this journey with us played, and then we got and dirty with the roasting. All proceeds from the evening went to the Heritage Foundation's Old, Old Jail project and we had a great turnout. A lot of jokes were cracked, but mainly I was reminded of all the hard work and long hours that my father has put into building our family business. It was so cool to see that recognized not just by his family, but by leaders of the community that he loves so dearly.

Rescue Mission Christmas Dinner

By far, my favorite night of the season is when we host the Nashville Rescue Mission's Men's Life Recovery program for a Christmas Dinner & Show at our Downtown Nashville location. It is really an outstanding program that provides long-term care and guidance for men coming from all kinds of circumstances. You can find out more information about it here, and they have a program for women and children as well. We've been hosting them for dinner for the past three years now, and every single year it is so much fun to serve these guys and then join them to enjoy music by The Renegades, featuring local legend Charlie McCoy.

We always have a surplus of staff that want to volunteer for this special evening. These folks make my world go round.

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, I'll see you on the flip side!
