I am on a much-needed vacation with my family this week. In an effort to honor that, I am going to keep this post short and sweet. The day before we left, Dad and I gave a talk at our local chamber on Managing Growth. Without getting into the details, one of the pitfalls of growing your business that we spoke about is burning yourself out, and likely burning out others around you. I reached my burn out point these past couple of weeks, so this vacation couldn't be better timed. I am getting to do exactly what I want to do, which is basically a lot of nothing. A little run in the morning, bike ride to our favorite market for coffee and a muffin, beach with my little girl, back to the house to go swimming, lunch, read Amy Poehler's book (thanks Cassie!) on the giant porch swing, maybe doze a bit, dinner, hot tub, sleep. Repeat six times. I'm getting lots of play and cuddle time with Hattie, which is probably what I needed more desperately than anything else, and we are making sweet memories with her grandparents and great-grandparents. It's perfect.
I'll catch back up with y'all next week!
ps to any meanies out there - we have someone staying at our house and three vicious dogs, so don't get any bright ideas!
