Ch-ch-changes

Hello friends!

Today comes with a rather big announcement here on Raised by the Fork, at least for me. I've been spending some time over the last month or so doing some blog soul-searching. I started this blog because I've always enjoyed writing, but also because I wanted to give a peek behind the curtains of restaurant operations. Over the last several months, I steered into more of a lifestyle blog as I ventured into recipe sharing and mom blogging. That's all well and good, but it left me scratching my head on what to write about each week. And frankly, I felt like I wasn't covering any new territory. And y'all, recipes are time consuming!

Then one day, when I wasn't thinking about it at all - BAM! - I had an epiphany. I should just write about the hospitality industry. Isn't it funny how "epiphanies" are usually just an awakening to a truth that you already knew? I am going to go back to the original purpose of this blog, which was to give you a peak behind the curtain of the restaurant world.

What does that mean for you, dear readers?

That means that this blog is going to become more industry-specific and career-oriented. I will of course be sharing stories from the world of Puckett's and A. Marshall Family Foods, but I will be focusing less on my personal life. I realize as I write that, that my personal life and work life are intimately and inseparably intertwined. My goal moving forward will be to hopefully help others in my industry grow their own careers and businesses by sharing what I've learned, what I am learning, and the mistakes that I've made along the way. If this does not interest you, I totally understand and wish you well. No hard feelings, my friend! But I do believe that much of what I'll be sharing will be applicable to many across a variety of careers and interests. I encourage you to stick around and see what you think, and definitely let me know.

Also - I write a bi-weekly column over at 12th & Broad by the same name (Raised by the Fork), where I will continue to share more personal stories and advice. Definitely be sure to check it out as well as the other awesome content they share.

Hello, newsletter!

I will no longer be sending my blog posts to you via email (after this one) if you have subscribed to the email list for this purpose. If you would like to continue receiving them via email you can subscribe to my RSS feed with something like Feedly or follow me on Bloglovin by clicking here. Moving forward, I will be using my email list as a newsletter specifically geared towards hospitality professionals that are looking to grow themselves, their careers, and their businesses. I will be using it to share mini stories, resources that I come across, and the like. I will generally only be emailing once a week, and will keep the newsletters brief and informative. What else?

I want you to know how much I appreciate you. So many of you have been incredibly supportive, letting me know that you've enjoyed following me either with a sweet message in my inbox, or when I run into you in the real world. It's incredibly humbling. I hope that you understand this is a very exciting step that I'm taking for my blog and my career. I certainly hope that you stick along for the ride, and let me know what you think. See you on the flip side!
